What I have been Up To

I made an entry in the Remix Veela contesst about a week ago. It was the final one of two entries. The contest closed 4-5 days ago and now I am waiting for the judges to chose the top 3 entries. I wouldn't mind placing in any of those spots, first would be great though. The suspense is not fun lol.

Aside from the time I spent working on the contest I moved my FL Studio Fansite to a new hosting home with its own domain name. The site layout also received a makeover as a result of the move.

I also did a few logos for my friend over at Publishers' Vault. I am glad he seemed to be pleased with them. His Amazon based revenue sharing site is an excellent place to go if you have an Amazon associate account. Stop by and check it out.

New Revenue Sharing Site - Publishers Vault

A new revenue sharing site has recently hit the scenes offering an 75/25 split for article writers. With a Professional look and feel to it Publishers' Vault is quickly rising in the ranks. As far as most revenue sharing sites go Publishers Vault has high standards such as 400 word minimum, and strong stance against overly promotional articles.

Original and quality content is expected, and understandably so since the the site motto is "Where the Best Information Is Kept". A motto that holds true regarding the content found on Publishers Vault. The main focus of this revenue sharing site is on music, travel, and literature articles. While articles on other subjects are welcome, the largest amounts of traffic will most likely be connected with the sites main themes.

For a relatively new revenue sharing site, articles from Publishers' Vault has began to hold their weight in many SERP's. The average rankings are climbing steadily and the site itself is gaining more authority daily. It comes as no surprise though, since such a high standard has been set on the quality and content of the articles submitted.

If you are looking for a professional revenue sharing site to place your articles on then Publishers' Vault might be just the place. Anyone who takes pride in their work is welcome so check it out.

My Latest News

Lately I have been working more on audio production than writing. I am in the process of making an entry to the Image-Line Remix Veela contest. The first prize is a set of 1k monitor speakers and $500 cash with some plug-ins is well worth the many hours I am spending. Even if I don't win I will still be that much better at audio production.

For those who are new here you will notice the blog design has changed. I am not finished with it yet and will be continuing work on it in the next few weeks.

I am pleased with how the design and content on FL Studio Fanatic is shaping up. I posted a small article there earlier today about using the channel settings to create portamento. The tutorial selection is slowly growing with each new post and I have begun making videos to compliment the tutorials as well.

FL Studio Discount Link

If you are already familiar with the program and ready to buy then you can just follow this FL Studio discount link to claim your 10% off. The conditions that apply are being a first time buyer or unregistered user of FL. You will also need to spend $89 or more for the FL Studio discount link to work.

You can always check out the demo version first to see if FL Studio is right for you. Make sure to bookmark this page so you can come back to claim your FL Studio 10 discount later if you choose to buy.

There are 4 Editions to choose from. If you are unsure which one is best for you then Check out this page on FL Studio 10 Editions. You will find useful information there about each edition to help you decide which one suits your needs best. That site also has a Fruity loops discount link as well.

It is important that you do a little research first to see which features of FL10 you are going to need and plan to use. I made the mistake of buying FL Studio before I really knew what I wanted. Needless to say I upgraded editions withing the next few days. I also was unaware of the fl studio discount link, which would have saved me $30 if I bought the edition I needed in the first go.

Since the FL Studio discount link is only good for first time buyers I suggest knowing what you want before you use it. This way you will get the best saving overall. You will not find more than 10% off unless Image-Line (the FL makers) is having a special discount sale going on at the time.

New articles on my FL site

Lately I have been working on my new blog dedicated to FL Studio and sound production more than anything. I wrote a large article about the best midi controllers for FL Studio and a large article about sound compression basics that is geared towards Fruity Loops but good information in general about audio compression.

Another large article I made explains how to record with FL Studio that shows how to record audio with or without an audio interface.

I have also done a few logos lately for other people and written several other articles. This Feb. The Google update is still stiffing though so I seem to be writing less on article sites and more on my own projects. I am also starting to help out one of my brothers friends with online related stuff for his band. I might also make a link directory to all of my work online so it is easily found by those who search for it.  Lets see what happens in the next few weeks.

The Best Music Making Software

Finding The Best Audio Software

While Many will argue over which music making software is the best, I find much of the debate comes down to personal opinion. One program might be better than another at a certain task while yet another program has unique features.

When choosing which music making software is best for you take into consideration what you will be using it for. Think about which audio production elements are necessary for you.  What options would you like to have included? And one of the biggest factors,  your budget.

The real sound difference in audio quality will come from your knowledge and experience with sound production. Any of the big name music programs like, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Logic, Reason, or Cubase are capable of producing great results. Even free programs such as Audacity can pull of great sound.

Even the most expensive audio program will sound horrible in the hands of the inexperienced.  Investing time in learning about audio production is how you go from good to great sound. The program is just a tool to help you along the way.

Do a little research and check out the stats and reviews of several programs to find one that will fit your budget and needs. Here are several music making programs to help you decide which is the "best" for you.

Personally I use FL Studio and really enjoy it. You can follow the link if you want to learn more about it.

Studio Monitoring Headphones | Sennheiser HD 280 PRO

I have done 3 different reviews of these headphones so far. Why? I really don't know yet. I guess I love them too much. They are some of the best headphones I have ever had. The sound and clarity from them is awesome. I was an audiophile before I began doing any audio production. These monitoring headphones suit me in both areas.

Here are the links. Take your pick. FL Fanatic, Excerptz, or Publishers Vault.

She Told Me Review

She told me is a site where you can add links or publish storys. It is a revenue sharing site, meaning you enter your Adsense id in the account setup and you will get a share of the ad revenue generated. Most revenue sharing sites operate a bit differently.

For She Told Me you get 100% revenue with an ad placed by your article. The way this works is an ad containing your adsense id is displayed everytime someone reads your article or link. I have not seen this method used on other article sharing sites so far as their approach to revenue sharing tends to be a bit different.

The links you enter are all do-follow so this site can be a great resource for backlinking your articles. As of right now they have a PR of 5 so the backlinks hold a bit of weight as well.  The site is definately worth looking into if you wish to increase your backlinks or even write small articles.

SheToldMe. Or you can take a look at my Hubpage's review as well.

FL Studio Site

http:flstudiofanatic.comI have begun working on my new blog dedicated to FL Studio. I now have it up and running. It is a bit bare at the moment but I will be adding articles soon so it shall begin to fill out nicely.

It includes information about the different FL Studio Editions and The FL Studio Discount that I offer so far. I will be adding easy to understand tutorials and information on a wide range of Fruity loops topics. Go check out my FL Studio Fanatic site. The design alone is worth seeing. =]

How to Make Money Writing Online

I recently made an in-depth guide about how to make money online. I cover all of the essentials for people who want to learn how to make money writing online. Already I have had some wonderful feedback from those who have read it. Some other established writers even found my guide useful.

After looking at search results I noticed very few people tell you what you need to do to make money writing online and offer very little information on where to find out more. This is why I spent over 30 hours writing a guide to help those just starting out. It really is a pain to try and learn something new when you don't even know what to look for. I have condensed what took me months of searching into one article. My guide How To Make Money Writing Online should give you the start you need to begin making an online income. Trolls And Trolling

Everyone that has been on the Internet long enough has come across a troll. Trolling is a hobby for some people. Trolls come in many different varieties and personalities. If you are unfamiliar with trolls I will explain a bit about them.

When someone is referred to as a troll online it is because of their interactions with others. A troll likes to cause as much irritation as possible. The goal of trolling is to upset other people and really get under their skin. This is what trolls will feed on.

Some breeds of troll love negative attention. They thrive off of making others angry and act uncivilized. Other trolls will just argue with someone for the sake of arguing and then call the person names or "flame them". These trolls love making references to peoples mothers and seem to be the most mentally challenged of the species.

There are also "expert" trolls as well who think they know everything and argue with everyone. They have a very high perception of their intelligence to the point where they truly believe they are smarter than anyone else. These expert trolls tend to be the most opinionated and ignorant of the bunch.

You also have the bitter complaining trolls who whine about everything. They are perpetual victims yet get very aggressive and violent if they are challenged. Give them $100 and they will complain it is not $1k.

Spam trolls will fill a chat or forum with gibberish and completely disrupt any decent conversations going on. These trolls are starved for attention and often the most immature of the troll family. Usually this is done by teens and pre-teens. Their actions do make them look to be around 7 or 8 years old.

Many more troll species exist and can be found lurking in forums and games, pretty much anywhere there is a large online community. The one thing they all have in common is they crave attention and like to make people lose their tempers.

Since these trolls work so hard for their attention I have started making special awards just for them to show how much we all care. You can suggest an award or use one of the existing ones to award your favorite troll for their efforts. Check it out. There is even a short story!

Place For Writers

For many years I have not found a decent place for writers. Quality places for writers seem to be in very short supply. My quest came to an end when I discovered HubPages. I even saw that I could make money using HubPages simply by doing what I enjoy to do anyways, writing.

If you have never heard of this site I will try to explain some of the benefits you may encounter there.

When I was first looking at Hubpages I was quickly drawn in by how easy using the site appeared to be. As I read on the more appealing it became. The site seemed to have a professional standard to it and a great layout. After joining I found all of this to be true. The ease of creating a great hub had me hooked in no time.

Learning new techniques daily, I began to gain a glimpse of the community there. What I found left me feeling excited to say the least. The Hubber community is one of the friendliest and most helpful group of adults I have come across online. They are very welcoming and a supportive place for writers. Asking for advice is encouraged as well as learning how to achieve your best content potential. So many writers at Hubpages take pride in their work and strive for excellence, just as I do so I grew comfortable almost immediately.

An excellent community of writers comes with a bonus at Hubpages. I now have the ability to do what I love and earn an exceptional income as a result. There are many Hubs from experienced Hubbers readily available, sharing their secrets for success to help you get started.

I write more for the enjoyment of expression the artform provides than profit. Many Hubbers feel the same way as I do. With such a large variety of topics, forums, and questions to ask and answer I have yet to run out of entertaining and educational material to read at Hubpages. Making friends who share your interests is also very easy to accomplish while you are there.

Overall I feel at home within the Hubpages community and have met many interesting writers from all walks of life. I plan to continue publishing my work in this place for writers and interacting with the wonderful people for many years to come. Who knows I might even make a decent living while having fun.

Join HubPages and see if you feel the same way I do. It is free so you have nothing to lose and might just end up gaining as I have. If you found this post informative or useful please share it with anyone else who loves to write using the buttons below.

You can also check out my review of SheToldMe.

Another Re-design

For some reason I thought I would redo my Blog design again. I am pretty pleased with the results after spending half the day working on it.

In other news I have been working on my other media sites. Twitter still needs a new design but that is low on my priority's right now.

Traffic has been slowly picking up on my Youtube and Hubs as well as Facebook and Reverbnation. My efforts are beginning to pay off. I also recorded a new song the other day, I still have to edit that and review it to see if its up to my standards. Sometimes I am too hard on myself -.- I also added a page for my cats on here but I will need to fill in comments. So far it is just pictures.

Thanks to the one person who reads this eventually. I hope I didn't bore you too much. At least the Blog looks good right? =]

Improving Your Sound Quailty For Your Videos

I just published a hub showing a technique I use to make my Youtube Videos Sound better. Took me 7 hours to make and now I have a massive headache =\ The time I spent was worth it though and soon I will have a new video out to go right along with the explanation.

Some people think you can only get exhausted from physical activity. If you use your mind enough the same effect can be felt. Hopefully I will sleep decently tonight at least lol.

How To Verify You Are The Author Of Your Hubs On Networkedblogs

How To
If you are like me then you have several locations on the net where you enjoy sharing your work. I like to post links to my hubs and blogs on Facebook but I find that doing so can be a bit tedious at times. Copying urls to several different locations at once is a pain to say the least.

This is where NetworkedBlogs comes in to play. Instead of trying to add my posts all over the place, NetworkedBlogs offers a nice app to use within facebook. You can have it post your feeds or others feeds to your Facebook profile and page ,as well as your twitter account. Once you have the sync set up no further action is required on your part.

Now the reason for me writing this post is when you want to use NetworkedBlogs to publish your own blogs and hubs you will have to verify that you are the owner of said posts. Getting verified with blogger was a snap. I just copied the supplied gadget and placed it in my sidebar. Verifying authorship on Hub Pages was a bit more difficult.

The way I ended up having to verify my hubs was to add the html code for the simple badge provided by NetworkedBlogs into a text capsule using the html editor within the capsule on one of my hubs. In order for the verification to work this way you will need to change the url of your Hub profile page you supplied on NetworkedBlogs to the url of the hub you inserted the link into. After it is verified you can change the feed url back to your profile page.

Hopefully this will save you the few hours it took me to figure out. There is another alternative if you are unable to confirm you are the author. You will have to get 5 friends to agree that you are the writer of the hubs that you are trying to claim ownership to. This can be a pain since they will have to install the Networked app themselves to do so.

I Could Use A Day Off

I feel so tired today and I really don't know why. Maybe it is due to all the writing and work I have done lately. I have not been as productive today as I would like but that is ok since I suppose I can take a day off here and there and shouldn't expect myself to be able to put in 12+ hours daily working on projects.

Since I started blogging and working on other social type sites online I am amazed at how much I have learned. There really is no end to what you can find out online. For example I learned a very simple technique yesterday to make a regular photo look like this. It can be fun and tiring at the same time to learn and apply page design. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel refreshed and ready to go again.

Fetch And Some Facelifts

The past 2 days have been very productive for me. Yesterday I gave this blog and my Youtube page a face lift. The link buttons above were the hardest part. Designing them was easy and fun actually coding them was a whole different story. I am happy with the changes though so it was worth it =]

Today I finally was able to film our kitten playing fetch. She would usually stop playing whenever we tried to film. Here is the video I posted on Youtube.

How To Build A Home Recording Studio

Recently I posted a hub article about how to build a studio at home. I went into detail for each of the components and provided some prices. So far it has only cost $750 and I bought a part at a time thanks to donations from some family.Personal audio studios can be much cheaper depending on what you want.

My home studio setup consists of the PC I had before a midi keyboard controller, audio interface and some mo monitoring headphones. All I need now is a mic then I will have a decent DAW (digital audio workstation) personal studio that suits all my recording needs and production needs.

If you would like to see how easy and affordable it is to make your own audio studio Check out my Article.

Back to work

Finally I have made up my mind after months of debating. The 10 or so unheard songs I have laid out will become my first album. I will begin to perfect and record them soon. Until now I have been unsure what I wanted to do with them. At one point I even wanted to make them the soundtrack of a movie, well I still do but that will take much longer to accomplish. As for right now they do no good just sitting in my mind. Music is about sharing and I would like to share these songs now.

One of the factors in the long time it took me to make a decision has been the originality of the songs. Very little of my current published content is much more than freestyle works at the time. This new batch of songs has more structure to them and I pretty happy with them. Some can be pretty complicated so perfecting them will takes a bit longer than I would like but the result will be worth it.

Another factor prolonging my release of these songs has been the lack of decent equipment and production knowledge on my part. This is no longer an issue as I have built and learned to use a decent little home studio over time. Now I can begin recording.

This being my debut album and my first big step to the many things that I wish to accomplish with my music, I cant help but think many other musicians also may have worried about their works being copied/stolen when they are just starting out. This fear has held me back from doing what I love for a long time now. Everyone has to start somewhere though so I made the choice to start sharing what I have done so everyone can enjoy the songs. That is what music is meant to be about anyways =]

Playing Nicely With Others

For the past few weeks I have been pretty active on Youtube. Amazing how much hidden talent is on that site. I have come across all sorts of artists that probably deserve a contract more than many of the people who are currently signed. For this reason I have began collaborating with some of the Youtube artists. I will be using what skills I have to help them make a really good track with their own songs. Its a win win all around since helping them will be good production practice for me and the results will be good for the artist own portfolio.

The best part is being able to help people with their dreams and the happiness it brings them when dreams become a reality.

A Long Day

(Please feel free to play "Mellow" from the playlist on the right while you read)
What a long day this has been for me. Creating a social profile can be a daunting task. I now know what people mean when they say it involves much hard work. I have accomplished many things today although for every task finished two more rush in to take its place. Tweak a setting here, fill in a form there, all while researching how-to set up this or that. I'm surprised the Google server hasn't crashed yet from all of my searches. Tedious? Yes. I still enjoy it though, despite the mental exhaustion. Solving problems and fixing things has always been fun for me..

Express Yourself

(Please feel free to listen to the playlist on the right to enhance your experience while you read)

Numerous times throughout my life I have been told that I should write. A journal, on a page, on a napkin...it didn't matter as long as I wrote something. Advice that I often nodded my head at while my eyes glazed over. The thing is I knew it was good advice. I found there is a certain freedom to be had within writing that provides a great way to express myself and allow my creativity to flow. As for relieving stress writing seems to let me unburden myself one paragraph at a time.

Music is my true passion though. Writing music, making music, playing music, listening to music, and on and on the list goes as I float away on a sweet melody. Coming back from the music induced stupor I realize that very few things send me on such a roller coaster of emotions in such a short time. The worlds I can explore, the mountains I can climb, the depths I can feel...
